BOCKSTEIN KABINETT
Dr. Fischer
The “Bockstein” vineyard is located in a side valley of Saar and forms a natural south to southwest facing amphitheatre above the village of Ockfen. The soil is comprised predominantly of hard, weathered, gravelly slate. Wines that grow in the “Bockstein” exhibit floral components reminiscent of elderflower, lilac, and violets as well as a salty-smoky mineral character.

History
In March 2014, Martin Foradori Hofstätter seized the welcome opportunity to revitalize the historic “Weingut Dr. Fischer” on the Saar. The small, internationally acclaimed winery cultivates Riesling in the top class, steep sites “Bockstein” and “Saarburger Kupp”. “In the greatest vintages, the best Mosel wine comes from the Saar,”is a regional vintner saying.
