Vigna HERBSTHÖFL BARTHENAU Pinot Nero

Born from a selection of the finest vines from Vigna Roccolo, this Pinot Noir reinterprets the genetics of Alto Adige’s oldest vineyard in a site with its own distinctive character. It occupies the highest and northernmost point of the Barthenau estate. The nearby forest, reduced sun exposure, and cooler temperatures favour a slow ripening process with high natural acidity. The soil consists of mixed, sandy glacial deposits with low fertility. The vines are forced to root deeply in search of nutrients, lending the wine the same inner strength found in the other Mazon crus. At the same time, this Pinot Noir is more delicate and fresh, with paler hues. It has personality, but reveals a quieter, more restrained soul.

Vigna Wine

Vigna signifies wines made from grapes cultivated in a single, precisely defined plot.
The more precisely defined the origin, the more distinctive the wine.
