Vigna
SAN URBANO
BARTHENAU
Pinot Nero

The cradle of one of Alto Adige’s most iconic Pinot Noirs. In 1987, it becomes the region’s first officially designated “Vigna” single-vineyard wine. The site unfolds across two parcels: one planted in 1962 and trained on pergola, the other converted to Guyot in 1992. The sedimentary layers of the Werfen Formation – unique in Alto Adige’s viticulture – and noble clay enrich the soil with natural fertility. The northwest-facing rows benefit from the summer “Ora” wind from Lake Garda, which keeps the grapes dry and healthy. The Pinot Noir from Vigna San Urbano reveals harmonious fruit, firm yet balanced character, and a freshness that remains vibrant and unchanged over time.

Vigna Wine

Vigna signifies wines made from grapes cultivated in a single, precisely defined plot.
The more precisely defined the origin, the more distinctive the wine.
