Vigna
SAN MICHELE
BARTHENAU
Pinot Bianco

Located on the Mazon plateau, the cradle of Italy’s most renowned Pinot Noir crus, this Pinot Bianco vineyard is one of Alto Adige’s outstanding sites. Thin layers of glacial soil, barely a meter deep, cover the underlying bedrock. The soil is rich in biostimulant minerals derived from the sedimentary rocks of the Werfen formation, a geological rarity in Alto Adige’s viticulture. The rock beneath is compact and impenetrable, preventing the roots from growing deep. This challenging environment creates a kind of positive stress for the vine, resulting in a Pinot Bianco defined by marked minerality and elegant structure.

Vigna signifies wines made from grapes cultivated in a single, precisely defined plot.
The more precisely defined the origin, the more distinctive the wine.
